Harold and the Purple Crayon

An interesting thing happened recently. A friend out of the blue hands me this little book (thankyou again Sara). She says that when she saw it at the book store, it made her think of me. An impulse buy, and an impromptu gift.
What makes it interesting is the flash of memory that the book evoked. Although I haven’t had a reason to think about it in years or even decades (boy am I getting old) I vividly remember having this book as a kid. I can remember flipping through the pages in wonder at what Harold could do with his crayon, and musing about where I could find a purple crayon of my own.
This tiny little opus sums up childhood in a nut shell. Wonderment, curiosity, and the promise that anything is possible.
So when it came time (at long last) to upgrade the web pages again, Harold seemed like an obvious addition. Credit where credit is due, I thought that since this is officially copyright infringement that I would turn it into a commercial.
Harold and the Purple Crayon is my first favorite book and I would recommend it as a must have for everyone of every age.
Here are some links to sites where you can find more information on the book, and maybe even purchase a copy for yourself.
